Constant bloodshot eyes Trey&Genesis'momma Due January 25; 3 kids; 2 angel babies; Somewhere, IN, United States 3462 posts16th Aug
I'm almost 17 weeks pregnant and this entire time, my eyes are almost nonstop blood shot. Some days I don't really notice it unless I look in the mirror, other days like today it hurts so bad in my eye and causes blurry vision and I can barely keep my eye open. It has gotten better for the time being but earlier it was very irritated. I looked in the mirror and it is still blood shot. :/ Is this normal? I mean I know sometimes it happens in pregnancy but I don't feel like it should be constant and especially not this early on when the baby weighs like nothing. I read that blurred vision is a sign of GD and high blood pressure sometimes but my next appt isn't till tuesday. I was told not to worry about either of these two things bc I've always been in the same zone in previous pregnancies and every time they check my BP at the office, it's normal. However, there's been other times checked on multiple machines where it has been sky high. They won't do anything about it though unless it's high at my appt. I fully plan on mentioning it to my dr but Idk if she will do anything about it. Anyone having the same problem? What do you do to help it? And was it linked to GD or high BP in your case?

My eyes are like this all the time. I have chronic dry eye. I have to load them up with drops throughout the day. It was terrible when I worked night shift. They were so red and sore.

Have you been vomiting a lot? That can cause your eyes to be like that.

Quoting Leah+1.5:" Have you been vomiting a lot? That can cause your eyes to be like that."This pregnancy I have had a lot of morning sickness but not as severe as my last one with HG. I haven't been vomiting lately just really nauseated at times. It just has always been blood shot the entire pregnancy with or without feeling sick.
