:!:

if he goes to bed hungry, he'll learn. if he doesn't eat what's for lunch, guess what dinner is? yep, the same plate from lunch.

Yep.
My parents would hold dinner for me until the morning. It was usually fish, since I absolutely hate it. They learned that the hard way. They didn't believe when I said I didn't like it.

Gross lol

OP, I would just be more consistent. He's an older child so he will probably hold out longer but he will eat healthier options when he realizes that they are his ONLY option.

Giving your child the same plate isn't gross. If they refuse to eat it, you just say "okay", cover it and put it back in the fridge. If they ask for a snack, heat up the plate. If they want dinner, heat up the plate. Almost anything that you cook yourself will easily last two or three days.

Yeah, that doesn't work for everyone. And I don't think you should force somebody to eat what they don't like, that's kinda cruel.
This has sort of been practiced in my family, and I hardly ate. I never ate anything that I didn't like and if I had to go hungry for days, I did. Can't say that it has done my health any favors though.
Instead of forcing food down a child's throat, you just have to experiment cooking different foods and find a healthy combination that he'd actually like. I do believe that it can be done.

Yes putting the same food in the microwave 3+ times is gross.

Re-heating the same food? 3 times? That is gross and can make the food incredibly over cooked.
