Can you see the potential? -PICS- KNZ. 3 kids; Washington 59191 posts

UPDATE: better picts of this house in the OP are on page 5.
There's a handful of houses throughout this thread
but as of Sept 11th, the most recent house of interest is on page 5 :)

Okay, first off, i'm huge on open concepts, natural light, bright colors on a white base, wood floors, etc. I DIY my life away :D

Knowing that- can you see the potential in this place? If you had the money to finish it.

MUST HAVES for me are wood floors (which can be done by us)
Skylights & alot of natural light
open concept (large kitchen)
high ceilings
less than 3 stories (like ours is now)
a deck
a yard

(we'd redo the whole deck)

my FAVORITE part:

a little cramped, but, eh:

i personally see a TON of potential
and i love it.
thoughts?
(you have to really have an eye to see things for what they could be, not what they are :))

Im not there in person to say for sure but to me it feels a little dark fit someone who loves that much light, it feels dark in a way that I wouldn't be sure how to fix

i seriously love it. like, i would keep it as is, but just fix up the spots that need fixing and add in our touch :D
there's a lot to do it but the cost is lower than our budget so we could afford to do that- plus, my dad's an architect so we always have his extra help :P
and yes!

It's quite possibly the pics, I hate makIng a judgement on light from pics cuz it can be so different in person. I love the character of the home though!

Well that just sounds all around great. And I know you are super creative so I think you could put a really great spin on it.
Good luck! Personally, I think you'd fit in great there. :)

oh yeah, with that amount of windows/skylights- light wouldn't be an issue :)
it's something i miss so much about my old house!

Yeah, it definitely looks like it needs a little TLC but nothing too much, kwim? I really love the natural/rustic vibe it has going on so I wouldn't do much if it were me either. I'd probably take that middle island out of the kitchen to give myself more space, I like a lot of space in the kitchen. Lol. I love the deck though, it looks huge.
