How do I deal with this pain? Irish Twins Mama ♥ 2 kids; Iowa 2147 posts20th Aug
Okay so I have SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction). It also goes by some other names. I am 36 weeks pregnant. It sucked and was manageable until I woke up from a nap yesterday. I only slept maybe an hour and when I woke up, I could barely walk because of the pain and pressure on my pubic bone. I just woke up from actual sleep and I am in tears. I can't even get off my bed or move without excruciating pain. I realize that a support belt should help a little bit but right now I can't really afford to get one and even if I did, it's to a point where I don't know if it'd even be worth it to get one because it's SO bad. How the heck am I supposed to get around and take care of my current child? I assume it's only going to get worse for the next month.

Honestly, I just had to make sure my house was completely safe. I laid on the couch while ds played. I got up to make him food or bathroom, ect... It was miserable & I felt like a shitty mom.

Boil noodles with butter and parmesean for meals. Make sure doors are locked and "bad" things are put away very high. Put on cartoons and just lay around all day.

I had a friend who was extremely effected by SPD later on in her pregnancy. I'd call your insurance company and find out if any chiropractor's in your area take your insurance. It seriously saved her life and was the only reason she could walk the last few weeks.

He's 10 months old and very high maintenance. I do have DH around sometimes, but I do feel pretty shitty for not being able to hold our son anymore and stuff like that. I really should see a chiropractor, I guess I didn't think about that. I'm going to see how much the belt might cost me.
