taking DS on a last minute trip to the beach tomorrow.
It's about a 1.5-2 hour drive and I plan to have a DVD going for him to keep him occupied.
Any things to put on my list for the beach?
So far I have:
- change of clothes
I usually plan ahead for trips like this so I'm scared I;m going to forget something last minute!
Sunglasses and hats.
You're looking good so far. (DS and I practically live at the beach)
I sometimes bring his beach toys/wagon to play with. I try to keep what I actually bring on the beach to minimum (less stuff to carry)
If you have an umbrella though that's good. I like to put a cooler in the car with Ice packs and leave a lot of water and snacks in it so when we get back to the car we have cold refreshing treats. Cold bananas are nice. Coconut water too.
I also like to put sunscreen on DS before I put him in the carseat so it has time to sink in but we only live a few minutes from the beach.
An awesome idea I heard about for key storage on the beach. Take an empty sunscreen container (or whatever type of container) and cut it in half so you can put your key in it and then work the pieces back together to hide/keep your keys safe and hidden. I am religious about where my keys are now on the beach after having mine stolen and my car broken into. Anyways have fun!!!!
baby powder to help get the sand off
Beach ball! can't have a trip to the beach without a beach ball ;)
Sand toys. My son only goes near the ocean for a few minutes here and there but spends hours playing in the sand with his toys. Make sure you have cash/change for beach tags and parking if you're going to a beach that will require that.
