At my whits end! I'mOnFire 1 child; Kentucky 2131 posts25th Aug
My son is almost 20 months old and let me tell ya, about the past month he has been AWFUL. He throws, he hits, he screams, he throws himself in the floor. When you tell him to stop doing something or tell him no, that its dangerous or however you phrase it he does it more and he does it harder if that makes any sense. For example he kept hitting the window with a book, I told him to please stop doing that, it's dangerous you could break the window and cut yourself up. He just looks at me... and does it again but this time its harder. He keeps testing me with everything. He gets mad and throws things when I tell him to wait, that he needs to learn patience. For instance, his sippy cup. He wants it filled and he'll hand it to me but I may be doing something, like trying to finish folding a basket of clothes. The minute I tell him to wait one second and mommy will get you more he starts screaming and throws the cup at me. I've tried getting on his level and talking to him. I've tried sitting him on the couch and telling him what he has done wrong and that he needs to sit there for a minute until he knows not to do it again. I've tried taking his favorite toy away. I have TRIED EVERYTHING and it does nothing. To me he has hit terrible two already, but the question is how in the hell do you deal with it :( My husband and I are about to go nuts. Someone please help me out here. I have no idea what to do!
