CNLs - botany names? *(ChrissyR)* Due January 8; 1 child; Georgia 731 posts

DH and I have argued (and I've cried) bc we just can't agree on a girl name. He has brought up trendy names and surnames and male names, none ofwhich i can get on board with. Finally, today, the name Orchid came up in conversation. We both like it. I'm a big science nerd and actually have.an orchid tattoo. I know this isn't traditionally a name... But wondering what others (especially my fellow CNLs) think of it.

Definitely do not like it.

It's too hard.

I actually like it. Oleander too. Orchid seems like a perfect middle name though.

I heard the name Arbor (for a little girl) today in church. I thought it was strangely alluring.

Willow is too popular for me and DH vetoed Hazel. I've considered TONS of other botany names prior. He always shoots them down.

DD1 is Lucy Aurora (too close to use Aurelia) and I like Ophelia but DH hates it and it does make me think "like PED Ophelia"

I have brought up Cypress, Willow, Sage, Hazel, Juniper, Aspen, Ash, Iris, Clover, Niamh, Maeve, Moira, Lorelei, Stella, Irene, Andromeda, and probably a dozen more I loved, ALL vetoed. I'm telling you, Orchid is the best I have to work with. DH's top 3 are Laney, Stormy, and Trinity.
