I'm working on my BASW/MSW (combined program). I *have* to have an income. I compromised and decided to provide daycare (it's going REALLY well so far :D I've gotten tons of interviews/interest and a few kids already, it's been 2-3 weeks since I started so I think I'm doing okay).

Well, my school's program wants us in class four days a week at different times - okay ,fine for a traditional student. Not for me. I'm still going three days a week (only open for care weekends and 3 days a week around class times, which is STILL working out just fine).

Now my problem... I need these two classes that are held at 8-9 am and then 230-330. I can't go home and get my kids between classes because leaving them at their own daycare twice a day would be hard for them; I can't go home and just chill because it's a 45 minute drive and my jeep is a beast. I have to sit at school for that five ish hours.

Would you just drop the AM class and get some of your gen eds/free classes out of the way? I found two that are online... I was thinking a 5 hour day at daycare for my kids (3 yo and 8 mo) will be enough that they adjust okay (it's twice a week)... but I just don't know. I do NOT want to drop out but I can't not work, either.

Ugh, sorry if this is all over the place. Classes start tomorrow AM so I have to decide NOW.

get an evening/weekend job. and take a class or 2 in the middle of your 5 hour wait.

No daycare for weekend/evening jobs, and no classes offered that I can take in between. Te program is ridiculously small, as is the school, so they're very structured.

Thanks!

You don't have any help from your SO with the kids?

When would you be taking gen.ed classes?
Don't drop out!

I say drop the morning class and try to do the gen ed classes online. Save up some money so you can afford to take time off from babysitting when you need to take the class.
