so i'm having a baby girl in a few weeks...

i need a carseat / infant carrier - and i'm looking at all the convertible ones on amazon and - they all say, "5lbs to 70lbs), this means i can put my tiny new infant girl in one, right?

As long as she's at least five pounds and the straps are at or below her shoulders. :)

Yep! We have a Graco MyRide 65 and it also says 5-40 lbs, although we got it when DS was already 8 months old. It has lasted awhile, he'll be 2 in September, still RFing!

The Graco MyRide we just bought has a "body support" pad thing for newborns so I'd look into something that has that.

I really wish I'd worn her more and just used a convertible seat. Saves you money and the stress of going through all of the brands! Everyone says "You NEED an infant seat, would you really wake her up just to take her in some where?" and I'm like "It wouldn't be a problem if you wear them!"

I wasn't working at the time though and mom thought that wraps and slings were weird. Haha.

yeah, i'm trying to juggle this purchase w/ the fact max already has a convertible, but i can't find the infant insert and the fact i have to buy him another one for the bridge shuttle bus he'll be riding.

bah!

i think i'll buy an infant carrier anyway and then just put her into max's old one when she's a bit bigger... but he'll still need another booster seat. oh well, they're cheaper than the convertible ones.

Yeah, boosters cost next to nothing and you don't have to worry about as strict of standards. Buying an infant seat now and a booster for him when he needs it won't break the bank!

we got an infant seat because if i am just running into somewhere real fast and he is sleeping its just easier to let them sleep.. I do a lot of bank runs for work
