Would you allow your kid to do a temporary dye on their hair? Would it be a one time thing, or would you let them do it pretty often, as long as it was always temporary? Would you only allow it on days when they weren't leaving the house, or only to certain places, or would you not care where they went with it dyed. For this, I mean unusual colors like blue, purple, bright red. That sort of thing.

Thanks!

No age limit i guess, but only during the summer. My kids all have dark hair so it wouldn't really work, ha.

Only summer because of school, or for some other reason?

If DD asked me now I would, she's 3. I don't think it's a big deal if it washes out and if they aren't in school.
My mom let us have crazy hair all summer as kids. And my cousins always had mohawks haha

lol.

My daughter is 3. She isn't in any sort of school. She wants purple hair, and her Dad already said yes, haha. I'm okay with it, but I guess it seemed odd and I was curious what others thought.

Whenever I was asked. I have told my son his hair is his choice. If the school had a policy however, we'd follow it. :)

My stepdaughter is 6 and I would let her do fun colours in her hair outside of school, I would probably only allow a few streaks though. The only time I could see myself or SO allowing her hair to be completely blue/red/ purple or w.e is for Halloween or a costume party or crazy hair day at school.

My dad always freaked out.
But my dad hates tattoos, piercings, black nail polish, dark hair (if it's not natural), colored hair, anything "alternative" really.
I don't think it's a big deal at all, it's just a color haha

I've been doing Heathen's hair with Kool Aid for about 2 years.
DH won't let me do my colors on her hair, he'd rather them wash out right away. Makes sense since she changes her mind what color she wants every few days.
But I would put temp color in her hair if she asked. She's almost 5

I'm so glad to read these! I never see young kids hair dyed any odd colors around here, and I was worried it was some sort of huge taboo I just didn't know about, haha.

Oh, and she's been begging us to buzz her hair off, so I think this was a "compromise" that allowed her to keep some hair (it's already short) but still get to be happy and do what she wanted and have some control.
