I have no idea what's going on with my child...but if the pointless screaming doesn't stop I'm going to pull out my hair. He has a clean bottom, bottle, had a bath, cuddles, everything! He'll only fall asleep if one of us is holding him on our chest, and he'll only sleep for like 45 minutes before waking up screaming bloody murder again.
I am seriously at my wits end!
Does anyone have any idea how to get him to calm down? Or what the hell could be wrong with him? He's usually so well behaved and sweet...this is just completely unusual for him

I'm pretty sure he's not teething...I've given him meds and teething tablets...they didn't help at all :/
Any suggestions on getting him to sleep or getting rid of gas?

Yea It sounds like he is just teething, and it probably will get worse before it gets better, I would recomend the teething gel from Walgreens it worked wounders with my nephews and daughter.

How old? What's he eating (formula? Breast milk?) any solids? what was his schedule like prior? Has he always needed to be held for sleep or is that a new symptom? Temperature? Sleeping peacefully or restlessly between wake ups? Are you in a dark room? Is there music/noise or tv/radio on?

Teething?
Upset tummy?
Night terrors?
Startling himself awake?
Growing pains/growth spurt?
More or less stimuli than usual today?

I've tried the teething tablets, but they didn't help at all

For gas I just burp him or bicycle his legs. Sometimes a light massage on his yummy helps. Has he started solids recently

He'll be 9 months on Thursday. He's formula fed, has been since roughly 3 1/2 months. He had bananas and green beans for dinner, but he's had both of those MANY times with no reaction. He used to be held to sleep as a little fella, but not really lately. He gets put in bed at 10:30 and goes to sleep with a bottle (that I take out an hour later when I go to bed). He sleeps fine when he sleeps, but he doesn't sleep for long. We're in a dark room, and I have music on like always, since he can't sleep otherwise.
He was asleep for almost an hour...so I put him down to go to the bathroom and he woke up screaming again

I'll give it a shot
He's had solids for awhile...that's nothing new. He has 2 jars a day...he'd have more if I'd give it to him. He doesn't have any issues with it

Founds like teething. The tablets just may not be working, it happens.

Try a little Tylenol before bed that's what I always did before I got DD's amber teething necklace. It helped her sleep pain free. It sounds like teething to me. The teething tabs never really worked for DD.

He FINALLY settled down about 2AM...he woke up every hour or so, but only for a few minutes. Then he was asleep again. Thankfully....now there's just a sleepy momma

Growth spurt & probably teething. if he doesn't already have 2-4 teeth then he's due for them. DS was rowdy like that for over a month before he cut his first tooth. He's 9 months old as of August 19th & has 6 teeth. he still wakes up screaming but I do believe it's 9 month separation anxiety, which is quite common.
