Why someone would have an ache on both sides of their stomach area and a bitter taste in their mouth? And they can barely eat and when they do, they feel like they are going to throw up?

What does this sound like?

TIA.

Sounds like a stomach virus to me.

I have the same thing and I have a bleeding ulcer. The pain is pretty bad at times though, not just an ache. Could be reflux or flu coming on.

It's been like that for a week and progressively getting worse...how long does it usually last? The ache is more like a pain somewhere internally, not the actual stomach.

It is bad at times. It's always an ache but sometimes it's really painful. Does an ulcer ever go away? What do you have to do to treat it?

Stomach bugs can last weeks. But if it's getting worse, then I'd go to the doctor.

He went and got blood-work done. His doctor thinks it's kidney stones but he's not sure because the results take a week. He's also getting a CT scan done.

Yes, I've had 4. I was put on a prescription for 3 months to help and a special diet (mainly had to avoid certain foods and drinks was all). This is my 5th one, but it was caused by my NSAID this time around so it was a little worse and started bleeding before we caught it. I'm just on meds and special diet again. They diagnosed me with a blood test, but a lot of times they'll put a scope down into you.

Oh, well that's good to hear. I thought they were permanent for some reason. I looked it up and everything on Google says the pain is usually in the upper abdomen. Can it be in the lower part too? Where was yours?

I waited for mine to get so bad that I had pain from my chest down to my waist. Radiating pain. With my other ones it always started lower and then went to my upper abdomen as well.
