I posted in health & well being but since im pregnant thought id have better luck here..
i was diagnosed with a small kidney stone & mild hydronephrosis after an ultrasound. I literally drink a couple glasses of water and the cramping & pain starts in my right kidney. Well, my midwife had me stop by the lab to pick up a strainer & told me to pretty much pound water to flush it out.. I plan on starting in the morning but I'm scared of the pain it might bring.. Or know that it will bring rather. If after drinking like 12 oz of water it showed my kidney backing up mildly on ultrasound what will steady drinking to flush it do?! Anyone been here? I really don't want to end up in the emergency room any help would be appreciated. Also I must add that I'm 27 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I'm just a little scared of bringing on that pain but know it has to be done.. Have you experienced this ? If so what happened :(

I just chugged water with lemon and apple cider vinegar in it to help break down the stone or at least round the edges. Drinking a bunch of water will help force it through your system and out of your kidney and bladder. Just drink, drink, drink!

The pain will get worse as it passes out of your kidney into your bladder then it will get better till you pass it. If you don't want to end up in the ER suck it up and just deal with the pain. You have to pass it, you don't have a choice.
