My 5 year old started complaining about a sore throat last night and she was running a temp of 102.4 I gave her Tylenol and it finally broke around 10 last night. This morning around 4 she started running another temp and gave her more medicine and that one broke. At about 1 I felt her forehead and she was burning up a temp of 101.2 and this one won't break. I just checked it and it is still the same. She is drinking she don't want to eat but that's to be expected. She isn't acting lethargic. My question is should I take her to the ER since her temp wont break or will she be alright to wait until I can get her to her pedi tomorrow? Thank you.

I wouldn't waste an ER trip for just a fever unless it was super super high which hers isn't. Just make sure you push fluids on her and do tylenol every 8 hours and do motrin off set over 8 hours.

ER is for emergencies, a slight fever like that is not an emergency. If she was lethargic or acting funny then yes. Keep doing what you are doing. Motrin/advil works better and call the pedi tomorrow if you want. They will tell you to do the same.

I didn't think so I just wanted to make sure it was ok to wait until tomorrow since I couldn't get it to break. Thank you so much.

You should let the fever run its course. When DD gets sick, her fever lasts for 3-4 days. Give Tylenol, Advil, etc when she is uncomfortable, a lukewarm bath, fluids, yogurt with active cultures. If she is lethargic or her temperature is above 104, then you should call her doctor.
