Not sure what to think Lilia's Mama (TTC#2) TTC since Aug 2013; 1 child; Florida 3592 posts

So my daughter is 4. Here's whats going on.

Around wednesday of last week, i noticed she had diarrhea. She was still going once a day only so i thought not much of it. She was still eating/drinking ok, no fever, acting normal. She also had it on thursday. Then friday morning she got up, and wanted milk... she threw up. She only threw up that once and didnt eat much that day, mild fever of 99.6. Didn't poop that day at all. Saturday came around, still no more vomitting, drinking a little, and still not eating great, no fever. That night came around and she kept saying her butt hurt. I thought maybe sore from diarrhea, but no redness. I put on some diaper cream just in case. But that didn't help. She'd put her hands on her butt and say her butt hurt and cry. Then she settled and i put her to bed, and she went poop again.. but it was diarrhea again. She woke up this morning, didnt complain about any discomfort, ate breakfast, drank a normal amount today, ate pretty well. No more vomitting, no fever still. But now again, she's doing that on and off crying saying her butt hurts. It appears to come and go. I ask her if she has to go potty but she just will reply with "butt hurts"... not sure what to think. Any ideas? i thought gas but she isnt complaining of stomach pain...

She could have a hemorrhoid or a small fissure from the diarrhea. You can try prep h. I use it on my son when he complains of that pain but hes also had rectal prolapses so hes a little more prone to hemorrhoids

Was she having normal bowel movements before the diarrhea started? I ask because a symptom of impaction is constipation followed by diarrhea (the stool leaks out around the impaction). It would explain bottom pain with no visual signs along with vomiting/lack of appetite and low grade fever.

his is exactly what I was thinking. I have helped take care of elderly people that have had this happen. They would have so much runny stool that you would never know they were impacted but after a stool softer or enima they would release an ungodly amount of crap (sorry tmi)

Before the diarrhea started she was having normal bowel movements. Always once a day, never skipping a day. She just threw up again, and then fell asleep... poor girl.

Why haven't yoi called her doctor? Something is clearly going on that needs medical attention
