Quoting homes cool:" I don't think anyone missed that part. I know of one homeschooling family who almost never leaves ... [snip!] ... noticed, if the parents are awkward - the kids are awkward. If the parent's are socially confident/etc - the kids follow suit. "

I do not think this to be true. My aunt was a beautician. She always had people over (she had a in-house salon). But my cousins are really weird. They had issues dealing with real life situations as they got older. Many not married or have children. Some have children but no spouse because they could not have a constructive argument. (yes construction argument. It is said that arguing is healthy for a relationship as long as its constructive.).

My friends in the South. Many lost their jobs because they werent used to the social life or the way of working in an environment with others.

See, every homeschooling family I know with the exception of 2 has had fantastic, confident kids. And homeschooling's a big thing in my hometown. Not that I plan on homeschooling him until he graduates...I'd be thinking until Grade 7 or so, but I don't think he would lack anything socially. I'd be more concerned about him not being able to learn in a way that suits him, when I could take him out of the public system for a few years, teach him the basics, and then set him up for hopefully better junior-high school years.

I'm going to talk to the school and our family doctor about

I would like to homeschool only because of all the stuff that is going on here. Or close to where I live. A kid was killed in a High school by a stabbing and 3 were in critical condition.
But I wouldn't do it. I do not think it is right for us.

Yes, talk to the school. I never wanted to go to school because of my ADHD. It was BAD. BAD BAD BAD. My mother never put me on medications. We changed my diet and certain things. Try that before you make a drastic change like that. For one he will think he can get away or be the boss. And then your other children might think its unfair or favoritism.
