Can anyone recommend a good tablet for kids? I'm getting my daughter one for her birthday but I can't decide which one to buy.

Also, I saw tablet advertised on tv that kinda looked like a iphone but a little bigger that I wanted to buy DD but I can remember the name of it. I think it had a camera, some other features, & was preload with a bunch of games. I think the price was 2 payments of $49.99 or something like that. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

DD has had an ipad since her 2nd birthday. DS1 has a Samsung galaxy tab 2 tablet. Both of them have a lot of educational games/apps. I like the galaxy better because I can store a lot of movies on the sd card for long car rides.

My three year old has a Nabi tab, he loves it. It gets dropped and shit all the time & has withheld the digs just on the red case.

He's getting an iPad mini for Christmas.

Was the commercial for a Kurio? They make a phone sized one and a 7" tablet too for kids, we've got them at work.
There's a few options for kids. The Kurio and the Nabi and Nabi Jr are the most popular though.

I thought this was going to be a d&d thread of throwing value judgments around. But no, everyone here is in favor of tablets for toddlers. Moving on...!

Lol, my three year old has learned a lot from the mix of apps & teaching from myself & Disney Jr. He's a little smartass, his pedi said he would probably be fine with skipping preschool because he knows everything already. However, I'm still going to send him so he can get used to it.

Yes, that's it! Thanks! I think I'll get DD the 7" Kurio since it's the same price as the handheld one.

Nope! I think tablets are a great way to entertain kids when the parent needs to get something done. I let my daughter play on my Kindle Fire a lot to entertain her & her little sister while we're waiting at a doctor's office or if I need to get some of my college homework done. I've got several educational apps downloaded on my Kindle along with just fun games for DD.
