The movies? Like a titanic, notebook, gatsby, the vow kind of relationship? Or do you think that the movies make them unrealistic?

I just want Leonardo or Ryan gosling to be madly in love with me..

All of those relationships involved toxic components....like infidelity....(titanic & the notebook).

It's unrealistic and no never wanted that.

I never liked chick flicks but the ones I saw as a teenager made me think that shit was real lol I was freaking disappointed when I found out it wasn't.

Not in the way that you're thinking....and I do think a lot of the movie relationships have some toxic element to them. (aside from unrealistic standards)

But I have had people describe my relationship as 'that kind of perfect' because of mutual trust, respect and staying madly in love all this time....I think it's sad whatever standards these people have for that to seem like a miracle.

seriously. I think Leo is fucking ugly as fuck. My sister is madly in love with him. I make fun of her 24/7.

We have movie love moments, but absolutely not all the time. I love SO with all my heart but maintaining a functional (sometimes dysfunctional lol), loving, adult committed long term (foreverrrr) romantic relationship is probably the hardest thing ever. We have extremely similar stubborn personalities, short tempers and depression. Some days are a struggle, but it always turns out fine at the end of the day :)

I wouldnt say i'm in a chick flick relationship but i think mine is pretty rare. I have the type where we were friends who fell madly in love with eachother but i was in a horrible marriage. One day I left my husband for him. Ever since we havent spent a day a part. He holds doors open for me. Puts his coat on me if he even notices i have goose bumps. Always opens my car door. If i go to bed early he tucks me in and kisses me goodnight and every night he asks me to marry him. He treats my kids better then my ex husband ever did. Like a father should, loving them like his own. I cook for him and when he comes home from work and i see it was a rough dat i rub his back and shoulders for him. We agree on every tv show and movie so its never an argument. and he like to surprise me with little things.....now recently i got some news that there is pressure on my brain and in my spine. they are looking for a tumor and I;m getting a lot weaker, A lot more tired, and the pain in my head is just so hard to ignore as well as the dizzness and vomitting (and my test results arent even all in yet). The first night we were told anything could be wrong he spent all day telling me how it would all be ok ....i woke up at 4 am to him crying holding on to me praying not for me to go. He still doesnt know i heard him. I keep getting put in the hospital some days are really hard and he tries so hard to help and still surprise me, make me feel beautiful.....hell 2 weeks ago i got AF durring my spinal tap and when igot home he set me up in bed and went out to the store and came back with 4 different kinds of chocolate for me and pads. Every night he comes home from work he spins me around and kisses me and tells me he loves me hell he's holding my hand as i type this. it may not be a movie romance but damn it its an amazing one
