Venting.

I'm SO effing tired of itching all day, every day, all OVER.
My thyroid is fine. My kidneys are fine. My liver is fine. Now today, after seeing the dermatologist, I find out my skin is fine. My last effing hope is this blood doctor I see next week. My GI and Derm think it may be mast cell related, but no one can elaborate on that for me, and googling that shit makes my eyes cross.

I want an ANSWER and a FIX like, yesterday!

Have you checked your iron levels? Or any other deficiency?

Quoting K8andblk:" Have you checked your iron levels? Or any other deficiency?"

Yes. Every doctor I have seen has been baffled, and sent me to someone else. The only things abnormal in my blood work are a high-normal bilirubin level, and a low haptoglobin.. neither of which give an answer.

Quoting Spacetits:" I was extremely itchy after my second. They couldn't figure it out, and eventually it went away. It SUCKED!! ... [snip!] ... away. It SUCKED!! Nothing worked to stop it. They thought the same thing, but it went away just as randomly as it showed up. :?"

How long did it take? It's been nearly 8 months now. And it isn't hormone related.

Alcohol and showers make it INSANE - so *something* has to be going on internally. Just no one can figure it out.

Quoting Spacetits:" It lasted just over a year. It started on my wrist, and made it's way up to the rest of my body. I am ... [snip!] ... you :( Benadryl, antihistamine cream, and other stuff didn't help. I can shower and eat citrus fruit without any issues now. :?"

Did you have any blood work done? Everything normal?

I'm dying. Seriously, I cannot sleep at night. I dread showering because I know I'll want to peel my skin off after. I can't cuddle with my 9 month old because he sweats like crazy, and if it touches me, it triggers. I want a fucking answer and a fucking solution.

Quoting Spacetits:" No. They were going to send me to the allergist who comes to visit every month. I was supposed to get ... [snip!] ... practice and moved to the west coast. I ended up just dealing with it, I don't recommend that. I am a pushover IRL. :?"

Yeah... definitely not dealing with it! I've had so much blood work done. And I am willing to bed when I see the blood doc next week, I'll have more. Hah. :?

Quoting Spacetits:" Are they just doing random testing? Mine was supposed to be for allergies. We don't have much options, I live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. We have to travel 3 hours to do anything :?"

They've tested my kidney function, liver, thyroid. CBC multiple times. All sorts of different panels (Celiacs, for one). I'm not sure what the hematologist is going to do.. it sounds like at this point, they're going to have to rule out any type of mast cell issue, but I'm not 100% sure what that entails. I read online that they may need a bone marrow biopsy, which I am sooo not prepared for.

I know I couldn't imagine having it everywhere... My hands get to the point I can move them because all the skin is cracking and it hurts so bad. I hope you get yours resolved soon!
