I had court today over legitimation for BD and DD. it was postponed and we all walked outside the courthouse.
We were all discussing lunch and BD walked over. My mom stopped him and asked him what his intentions were. I said, "mama stop." But she kept going and started crying. She then said "that baby is my world. If you hurt her I'll kill you."

I yelled at her to stop and hush. BD walked away quickly.

My mom broke down sobbing and apologizing, going "oh my god what have I done?"

She was distraught. I forgave her, but now I'll have to see my lawyer and do damage control since I know BD is going to run and tell his lawyer.

My mom didnt mean it and wasn't thinking clearly.

What's going to happen? :( I'm scared.

I mean, all that can really happen is he gets a restraining order on your mom. It really doesn't effect your case, since you didn't say it. But, definitely leave her at home from now on. She can't keep control of her emotions, especially in front of a court house, she can get herself in major trouble. Hopefully he just lets it go.

I recommend not having her come to anything else. But, yes, I would tell your lawyer that happened, for sure. :?

I would definitely mention that to your lawyer and no offense to her but she needs to stay at home next time. Her making threats(even though she didn't realize fully that she wasn't in control at first)is bad and BD can get a restraining order if he feels the need. I hope he doesn't but a judge won't look too kindly on it happening a 2nd time.

Yeah my mom feels terrible. She realized what she was saying right after it came out of her mouth. She's been crying nonstop since.

I'm waiting on my lawyer to get to his office, then I'm going to head over and speak with him. I need to anyway, because the rescheduled court date is a bad date. DH has jury duty that day.

Yeah I told her he would probably ask for a restraining order. She lives in another state, though, so its not like she'd be around all the time anyway.
I'm going to tell her to just stay home next time, just in case. :(

I fully understand her being emotional about it though since he has never wanted anything to do with your DD & is now trying.

Yeah she basically said what everyone has been thinking. She just got overly emotional and let it go. :(
