Sick of your kids? Re-home them online Ronnie RadKat 3 kids; Arizona 21151 posts

Despite the "humorous" topic line this is not a funny subject whatsoever. Today I began reading a 5 part Reuters story on "online child rehoming" and "disrupted adoptions" and it made me feel just freaking sick to my stomach.

Basically people who adopted children decide later that they do not want to continue parenting them ( mostly due to issues the children have). So they go on these online forums and re-home them to basically anyone who will take them, they sign a paper granting the new "parents " guardianship and hand them over without so much as a background check or home study, in some cases they've only met once and dont even know last names of addresses.

If you'd like to read more here's a link yo one of the horrific stories:

I saw this on the news the other. They interviewed this 13 year old Chinese girl in a wheel chair. She was crying saying she felt unwanted. I wanted to cry with the poor girl. Broke my heart!

Nora I believe is her name, poor girl. She was given to the woman in the story I posted, she actually lives in my city and apparently was tracked down to a weekly pay motel where she several kids inside with her. Crazy

How many times did that fat ass lady get away with killing and molesting kids?? This is what is wrong with our system. She can get away with that but a parent smokes a bit of weed and their kids are yanked from them in seconds.

Bullshit.

This makes me sick. My aunt and uncle have adopted 13 children, most of whom have mental/physical disabilities. They are awesome people and those children are amazingly loved. So when I hear crap like this it pisses me off. My aunt and uncle used to be foster parents but have since stopped that unless the county contacts them with an emergency case.

Yep, she's been part of killing one, abused her own daughter but she DENIES that her own children were taken from her, she says she still has them (not true). Like I said she lives where I live, with children in a pay by week motel. I also wonder why they take in kids when technically there is no financial gain for them, some people are just kind hearted but most will not do that (especially with children with RAD) obviously there has to be some ulterior motives going on.

My mother in law has 3 bio, 8 adopted children, about to be 9 and she also currently fosters a sib-set of 3 girls. Two of the kids she has were signed over to her in a off-the-books adoption but done through the social worker. However, she had been their foster mother for years, they were reunited with their bio-mom. 6 months in bio mom doesn't want to do it anymore and the social worker contacted her. She took custody of them because she cared for them and she was well known by them.

I can't believe things in those stories actually go on, I can understand feeling overwhelmed by your child, feeling like you can't handle them or whatever BUT to just drop them off at the house of someone you just met on the internet? WTF? I wouldn't even do that to my dog, these are CHILDREN! It infuriates me.
