My baby shower is next weekend. I have to go to my hometown for it as that's where all my friends and family live. Its a 2 1/2 hour drive. I'll be 34w2d. My OB's office doesn't want patients traveling outside of the city after 34 weeks. I am going to bring this up to her at my appointment on the 18th. (The reason the 21st was chosen, was because that's when it worked out for everyone who was planning it and myself. I didn't realize my OB's office didn't want me traveling after 34 weeks until after the invitations were sent out.)

I think it should be okay because my husband is coming with me and I won't be doing anything that will exhaust me. I have had a very easy and healthy pregnancy so far.
It should be okay, right?

I would go and not think a thing about it, especially at 34 weeks.

ETA: If you get sore or uncomfortable from sitting in the car, just get out and walk a little every now and then.

I had to miss my BILs graduation (my DH and DD went alone and I was almost 35 weeks) because it was an 8 hour drive out of town. My OB said no. But I don't think I would have worried so much if it was only 2 hours.

I think at 34 weeks you should be fine.

My sister had wanted to get out of a work event when she was 36 weeks along. She had to travel 2 hours away. But, they said even though she was 36 weeks they would not write anything up for her, so she went.

I'm 35 weeks I am going to my sisters next Tuesday on the 17th because she had a baby on the 24th and I haven't seen him yet. She lives 2 1/2 hours from us my ob said it was fine but if I start having contractions I need to come back right away. Also by that day I will be 2 days away from being 36 weeks. I would go you can stop and take a break if need be.

2 1/2 hrs away isn't bad at all. I wouldn't even worry about it! If you don't want them saying anything to you, don't even mention it to your OB. If there's something going on with you (medically) that you shouldn't go, then it'll be brought up regardless. Of course, that's very unlikely!!!

In a normal, healthy pregnancy, there's no reason you can't travel past 34 weeks. I traveled 4 hours away for my son's doctor appt at 37 weeks. Both ways, over 500 miles, in 1 days. My feet were HUGE by the time we got home, but that was to be expected. Just stop a couple of times to stretch and walk around the car, and maybe sit in the back with your feet up if possible, if you have any issues with swelling.

I was 38 weeks at Easter and there was no way in hell we were spending it away from family. I was iffy about travelling but we drove 3 hours to be with family (so happy we did, she wasn't born until 41 weeks). It was uncomfortable but way better than being alone.
Like a lot of the other moms said, if your pregnancy normal, go for it! :)
