Have you tried putting a plait in the pony tail? Amelie has hair like Bella. Really thin and whispy. Hair clips don't even stay in her hair (Unless they have the special grip pad) because her hair is like silk, they just slide out. I braid mostly, but only because it's just as quick and easy for me to braid as it is to tie it back in a regular pony tail. Not sure what hair ties you are using, but I've only found one type that works well in both the girls hair (Charlotte has super thick and long hair, it's a whole other problem) we use the small size, no snag ones from woolies. Select brand. But no matter how tight I do Amelies hair in a normal pony tail, it will fall out. If I do a plait in it, it only falls a little, but still mostly stays in.

Yep thats my go to hairstyle for bella lol, its the only one that will even come close to staying in(that and braiding - need more practise!!) but its usually out by the end of the day unless they stay inside all day(less running around i guess haha). I actully had her with a ponytail plait today, and i had ribbon through it because it was footy colors day at daycare(eagles colors ribbons haha) and it stayed in! when i picked her up it looked like i'd expect it to look just after dropping her off  i'm tempted to make the ribbons a regular thing haha

Ohhh, I'll have to give the ribbons a go! If they work, then stick to it! It might be a bit different when she starts school. How is the setup there for Kinder? Do they do lots of learning through play, or sit down learning? If it's sit down learning, her hair might stay in a bit better, coz she wont be as active.
