I placed a baby up for adoption at birth when I was very young, I know it cost the family over $10,000. They paid for all my living expenses. Which I didnt ask for, it was just apart of it. So that was $1000 a month, all my medical bills then they have to pay for lawyers and the process through the agency. As far as fostering, we looked into it because before I got pregnant we wanted one more but all the ones we contacted... almost all the children that were up for adopting/fostering had to be the youngest child in the house due to mental and physical abuse. We decided against it because DD is #1 priority. I didnt want her in harms way. A lot of children that were molested and physically abused take it out on younger children.

We looked into it in Cumberland Co. and though DSS it would be about 3,000 dollars and through a private agency about 20,000

Yeah it is. I'll get you the link to do it through the state though, they have children listed on their website but not babies. It will give you an idea of what to expect and how to start though.
