Painful BH only 13 weeks?? BRowell 3 kids; 2 angel babies; Bristol, TN, United States 3681 posts

Tonight I've been having very painful BH. I'm having to breathe through them and they are leaving me feeling crampy. I've been laying in bed since 7 and they started at around 8 and I've had 7 of them in about an hour and 15 minutes. I'm laying on my left side and drinking water. I'm starting to get nervous about it. I'm only 13 weeks. Is this normal? Would you call or go in?

I had the same thing for weeks and ended up going into full blown preterm labor. There was nothing they could do for me early on though besides suggest drinking water and resting. Good luck! I hope it's nothing.

I would call. You could have a UTI. My BH started that early and I've had them ever since. I'm 21 weeks and I was having them constantly nonstop at a point at 17 weeks where I found out I had a UTI. Now that the UTI is cleared up, I'm still having them :/ But the dr won't do anything because the baby isn't considered viable yet. So basically if I go into full blown labor I'm just screwed. I've just been taking it extra easy, getting plenty of fluids and such and trying to ride it out. But I have a bad feeling I will go into full blown labor soon especially with my previous PTL history. Good luck and hopefully it's just a UTI or something that can be treated.

I called and they told me to continue laying on my left side and drinking water and if it gets worse or I can't sleep because of it to go into labor and delivery. Thanks ladies.

I'm sorry! I hope you can make it full term. What are some signs of a UTI? I've had a bacterial infection before but that's not the same right? Is there anything else I should look for?

Me too! It was scary enough with my son. A UTI is a bacterial infection in your urine. Typical signs are frequency to pee, pain and burning during urination, not being able to empty your bladder. But I didn't have any signs of a UTI when they found out about mine. Just had constant contractions almost non stop.
