I am in the process of becoming a surrogate. I have passed the first two parts of the application process and I have my phone interview tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I pass that (and the steps thereafter) so that I can be selected to become a surrogate for a couple in need!

That's awesome! What agency? I was waiting to e matched up with a couple and then got pregnant :(

I'm going to hopefully do it in a few years. Pregnancy killed me last time so I want to wait till I am fully healed!

That is great. Looking forward to following your journey. Did they tell you how long to expect it to take before you get matched up?

Well, I applied at a few, but Growing Generations is the one that responded the fastest, so I'm going to go with them for now. I'm really excited and hoping really hard that they accept me!

All I have right now is the FAQ information from the website. I will learn a lot more tomorrow during the phone interview.

I was with a mothers gift but was told it could take a year. So in the meantime I had applied with fertility bridges and they say 6 months at te most, and they had just sent the contract papers for me to sign and I got pregnant. Just and FYI it can take a while. And the more open and willing you are to do things like abort and stuff as bad as it sounds gives you a better chance. I'm gonna PT you because I love bei friends with other girls who are doing what I hope to do !

Ok, go for it! I know it can take awhile, but I'm hoping it won't take *too* long. From the website, it says that if I pass the phone interview, then I just need to fill out information for intended parents and then go to LA for a medical and psychological screening. In approx. 2 weeks the company should get the clearance and then they can start the matching process.

Ah okay. A mothers gift do it a bit different. You would be matched nd then go in for the screening and uterine test and all that. But I didn't have instance so maybe that was why? I'm excited for you! I love being pregnant but I'm done having kids. A

Thanks! I love being pregnant as well. And my husband and I don't want another kid for a long long time, if ever. So why not help out couples now when my body is still able to, ya know? I've always wanted to help someone start their family. Ideally, I'd like to be a surrogate 2-3 times for the same family (if they were single births that is).

Yeah that's how I feel. I'm very fertile. 3 of my kids took one unprotected sex to conceive, the last one was a pull out baby. :/ I know alot of people who want babies. I even contemplated on being a surro for my gay boss lol. But I'd have to do traditional and idk if I could do that. I'd rather just be a gestational carrier. I'd love to do it more than once but I would have to do it once to tell. My friend wanted to do it more than once but then had surro twins and said she wouldn't do it again.

Yeah, if I had twins, that would probably be my only time. lol

I definitely couldn't do traditional. I could give away a baby that wasn't biologically mine, but I couldn't if it was. I'd rather feel like I'm doing a service for someone than know that I'm giving my child away. I'm not as fertile as you, but I did get pregnant in the first 3 months with my oldest and the first month with my youngest, so I'd say that is fairly good odds!

I just wanted to say that both of you are awesome women to do something like that for complete strangers. We need more people like y'all in this world. I hope that everything works the way it should and you get to make unfortunate parents very happy.
