Have you had any Pre-E symptoms? Weight gain like that is a HUGE warning sign for Pre-E.

ETA: I'm referring to the 8 pounds in 2 weeks, not the 44 pound total.

I have gained 50+ pounds during my pregnancy, I know its my first and all but I have. But, that is mainly because my baby is growing big and fast, and like previous poster said, pre-e, I am border line for pre-e, but I haven't gotten it yet.

I would call tomorrow and check with your OB or nurse. That happened to me toward the end of pregnancy (I gained 4 lbs in 3 days). I ended up with pre-e a few weeks later. Before the rapid weight gain I'd gained about 30 lbs, and by the time I delivered I'd had so much swelling and weight gain, I was almost 70 lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight.

I gained most of my weight the last few weeks of pregnancy. Including 4 lbs in one and another 3 lbs or so another week. My blood pressure was always very normal. and I lost at least 20 lbs right after delivery which only left me at about 10 lbs above pre pregnancy weight. It is possible it is nothing. My midwife didn't say anything about it.

So the weight gain could happen before the onset of symptoms from Pre E?

Yes, it's high blood pressure. More than 1-2 pounds a week can be a sign of Pre-E. Have you felt dizzy? Seen spots or felt lightheaded? Had lots of headaches? Anything like that can be a HUGE sign. I would get in to your OB and get your blood pressure checked ASAP. Mine wasn't caught until 26 weeks (my OB was an idiot) and both me and my son almost died. My OB never guessed that I might have it. I had to ask her if I might have it because my left leg was twice the size of my right.

I gained five pounds in a week some weeks during my final couple months of first pregnancy. By the time I gave birth I had gained 60 :S I was sooooooooooooo swollen and obviously put n some extra pounds as well.. But my BP was always fine. Never got PRE E. I lost 35 by the time I left the hospital and the rest over the next 6 months. Just keep an eye on your BP and if you get dizzy call a dr.

I actually got all of the symptoms before my blood pressure ever went up. For me, blood pressure was the last thing to happen.

I feel dizzy and lightheaded very often and see spots and "floaters" but im also anemic and have low blood sugar so Idk if that has anything to do with it?

That's something that I honestly don't have an answer to. When I was anemic, my only "symptom" was literally sleeping 16 hours a day. I was sooo tired all of the time. Does your OB know about the "floaters" and dizziness?
