Kids get into a bunch of bananas. You force all 3 kids to eat them since they are peeled and will be wasted. You want them to learn that they don't get into that stuff unless they ask first.

Maybe taken too far. I wouldn't make them eat them all but they'd be grounded from everything and not allowed any goodies for snacks

Well.. I see where you are coming from, but I would never force my kids to eat anything. I want them to build good eating habbits.

Thats just me. At least it was bananas and not chocolate cake.

Depends how many bananas are peeled I'd have each eat a serving size.

Ehhh idk. Bananas can cause a backup and I wouldn't want that to happen.

I wouldn't have them eat them especially if it's a bunch of bananas. Bananas are very well known to contain potassium and too much potassium can stop your heart. So....yeah. But I would discipline them in some other way for sure because they need to learn there are consequences.

Okay FORCE, might not be the word. I made them pick them up 5 bananas that had been peeled and smooshed. Made them sit down and eat 1 banana each. They gladly ate it, but still..... I feel kinda bad. My dad would force me to eat every drop of food so I wouldn't waste and then call me fat and make me run on the treadmill ugh I don't want to make my kids feel like I did

I think it depends on how many bananas. If it's only like 1 banana per child I don't see the issue, but if it were 2 or more maybe just have them eat one each. I wouldn't have them eat too much but we don't waste food.

I would ask them to eat them. If they didn't I would just throw them away..
Bananas are cheap... lol.

I bet they would learn the same way if you just told them that. What if they get into cake next and are forced to eat it? "Sure, mom..Ill ruin the cake. Means I can eat it."

Hmmm not taken to FAR (sorry typo in original post) in any means but I worry about food used as a discipline.

I would have scolded them, explained the consequences, had all three help me cut up the banana and bag it for freezing and possibly (if they didn't seem to be acknowledging they'd done anything wrong) I'd remove a toy or priveldge for a 24 hr period.
