Quoting ☮ Phuket:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Trey&Genesis'momma:</b>" I wouldn't have them eat them especially ... [snip!] ... sure because they need to learn there are consequences."</blockquote> You'd have to eat a shit ton of bananas dude."
I know but they told my dad when he was hospitalized that it's easy to OD on potassium. So that's why I said what I did.
1 banana per kid? yea they'd be eating them. my kids wouldnt see that as punishment though lol my 2 year old will gladly eat 3 bananas in a row
Cora does this with bananas and it drives me nuts. She'll open it, take one bite, and say she is done. But she'll do it to like 3 of them in a row.
So now the deal is, if she opens a banana, she has to eat the whole thing (or more often, she has to split it with me), or she loses TV for the afternoon.
I don't think you went too far. You didn't force them to eat like 5 bananas each.
I would never use food as punishment.
I'd just make banana bread or puree and freeze for the baby. It is nut a big deal.
I would have mashed them all up and put them in the fridge and had them eat it as a snack until it was all gone. That's the side of me that wouldn't want to waste it or use excessive amounts of food at once as discipline.
I would also talk to them everytime snack time came around about why they still need to eat that instead of getting something else.
One banana though doesn't sound bad at all. I would still talk with them about getting into things they shouldn't and wasting food.
