So I have an idea.....my DD is still not fully sold on having a brother or sister (we will start TTC when I get my IUD out on Monday). To help her feel involved I was thinking of my DH and I narrowing the boy and girl names (since I want to try to not find out until the baby is born, I don't know if I can do it but I want to try LOL) down to 2. The middle name is set for both since they are family names (Raenell for a girl since it is my middle name and I am the only grandchild that name was passed to/Loren for a boy since it is my DH and FILs middle name and DHs grandpas first name as well as my great grandpa's first name). I was thinking of letting my kids choose which of the two they want since we will narrow it down to 2 we both would be okay with.

Did you or would you allow your child to participate in the naming process?

We have included DS in all of our name conversations so far. He claims to hate all of our names and is only in favor of Batman or Twilight Sparkle. He will not even entertain the thought of any other name lol

Epic.

My DD wants Cinderella or Belle for a girl. Prince Charming or Beast for a boy. She isn't a princess fanatic at all. LOL

My DS and DH were talking about the potential for Batman or Iron Man. LOL

We totally involved the boys in the naming process, we all made lists and ended up with 4 pages of names. ( You have to start REALLY early if you want to do it this way, it is QUITE the process! ) But in the end we came up with a name that no one hated :P I think that if they are part of the discussion it is great ( even if they don't get to name their baby sister Cinderella :P ) they still get to be part of it. We also let the older boys help pick out the theme and decorate the nursery.

We will have to narrow down for both because I have told my DH I don't want to know. He does so if I show any weakness he will give in. Dang it.

I think it is a sweet way to include her! Though I must admit, before I read the part of her just picking from the list you narrowed down, I was curious. My cousin and his wife let their four year old completely name his baby brother. He is Catch Luke. 'Catch', so he can catch all of the bad guys, and Luke as in Luke Skywalker. I really like your name choices btw!

I think there was a mama on BG who recently named her son Bruce Wayne. I think that's super awesome lol

My son was kinda too young to help when we had his sister. But I remember my mom letting me help name my little sister when she was born. She's ten years younger than me.

My DD is 6 so old enough to help. My DS is 3 so not as helpful.

My 4 year old picked his sisters middle name. He chose Sonia, because she's sonic the hedgehogs sister. And he was obsessed with sonic at the time.

Apparently that is the way kids choose names lol. I need to get DS into Vampire Diaries so he will get on board with Caroline :)

My DD wants the name Arabella so she can call her Bella or Belle (she loves all things princess) but my best friend had her DD stillborn at 19 weeks and her name was Arabelle. That name is on the no list for sure. :(

Aww :( My DH really likes the name Mason, but my aunt had a baby with a heart defect a few years ago that died a few hours after he was born and that was his name. So I know what that is like
