I love the name Miley. I was contemplating using it for our second baby girl but now I'm definitely not, thanks to Miley Cyrus.

I don't want people to think of that girl everytime they here the name...
do you like the name Miley and do you think it's still useable?

Since Miley isn't a real name, yes people will associate it with her.

Miley is never useable.

That isn't even her real name. I also can not picture an adult named Miley...

I like Miley Cyrus more now than I ever did... I don't associate names with celebrities though.

I think it's a cute name. Sadly, I do think of her when I hear it. I wouldn't say the name was "ruined" because by the time your LO would be old enough for her name to be used as they got older (school, work, ect.) Miley Cyrus would be water under the bridge if that makes sense. but, I do think of Miley Cyrus when I hear it. lol

I would have never used that as a baby name. It would be a great dog name. Not because of miley cyrus but because its not a name that will grow with a child. It will always sound like a cute kid/nick name but not an adult name.

I think it is ruined from the get-go but by the time your child is grown -up I think Miley Cyrus will be a distant memory.

Did you associate the names John and Paul with the Beatles when you were a kid?

No one will know who she is in the next generation.

I think it's fine. I understand not wanting the automatic association with Miley Cyrus, but like someone said there's always a good chance that Miley Cyrus wouldn't be that well-known in the next ten years or so.
Although I usually see 'Miley' as a nickname for Amelia.

I love the name. But it's a nickname. I'm pretty sure she legally changed her name but it wasn't her name at birth. Anyhow I like the name and her. So no IMO it's not ruined.

But, you would with Ringo. Ringo, like Miley is a unique moniker that sticks out in people's minds.

Yeah, her name was originally Destiny.

My daughters name is Molly and occasionally someone will think I've said Miley... They always say " is her name Miley" with raised eyebrows and a judgey/condescending tone!! It's so strange and off putting but it's always the same response!

I agree with the others about it not being a real name. It's a nickname of her nickname Smiley.
Plus it just sounds yuck and I know a few dogs with that name which makes it even worse to me.
