There's a mouse in my house! S ♥ J ♥ L 1 child; 3 angel babies; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 3694 posts

Last night SO saw a mouse in our kitchen.

Ew. We're waiting on our maintenance guy and the exterminator to come up to our apartment. I'm so grossed out, I hate mice.

Anyone ever have this happen??

Occasionally. But I have a cat, and he's an excellent hunter. 8)

Calling an exterminator for one mouse sighting? Sounds extreme

It's not that big of a deal. I'm pretty sure that all houses have an occasional mouse that comes to visit

Our building is older, and right next to a Forrest, so I can see why but it's still freaky.

We live right beside a barn so mice are always getting in our house. We just put a trap out and usually catch them the same night.

It's eating/chewing our bottom cabinet. That's why I called. They freak me out too.

i would die if i had a mouse in my home. i saw a dead one in storage and immediately had my dad remove my stuff and i sold my furniture bc i couldnt think of ever sitting on the sofas after a mouse had been so close lol.

I get rats
They chew through the outside walls and crawl in

They're also so smart we had to buy a live trap because regular rat traps didn't do a thing

It's lovely

We live on a farm. Our backyard stops and cow pasture starts. In the spring and fall when they mow down the tall grass we will get mice under our house. And in 8 years i've seen 2 in the house. We just put bait under our counters and under the house.

Yes... we live in the country next to fields where they plow so we get them off and on. I hate them too but there's not much you cam do besides catch them/trap them. We have a brand new doublewide we bought last year and still get them so they will find ways to get in.

We did once for a short period of time. We set out various traps in numerous places, but it always evaded them. That thing was smart. It would eat the bait, but never get caught. We managed to corner it in the living room one night, and DH shot it with a pellet gun.

UGh we JUST had that happen. I saw it standing next to me in the kitchen at night when my husband left for work. It sucked..i was all freaked out. We bought those "no show" mouse traps, set some of those up. Never went in it. Few days later while my husband and I were playing scrabble we saw it run across the floor and go under the fridge. My husband layed on the floor trying to fish it out for forever and he finally got it to come out. we had paper bags taped to the floor..it ran into one and my husband took it outside. We found the hole it must have come in from and plugged it up. Worst part about the fall is all bugs and critters want to come in for warmth.

Hahaha

Yeah I grew up on a farm and right before winter a few mice would get in. We'd always have traps set and never had a problem. Exterminator is expensive and really extreme..

From experience there is never just one. I loathe mice and they freak me out. You can set traps at night around your baseboards and areas you have found droppings. You need to get all the holes sealed up or they will just come back. Check for droppings under the sink, behind appliances, behind your couch.

Awe poor thing. I wish you luck. My family did live mouse traps then drove them out into the country. We would get them every winter when I was a kid, but we have forest right behind us too.
