They can take the baby if it is tested and comes out positive. With that being said not all hospitals test babies if they don't have a reason.

Unless you have a medical card for it I do believe CPS can and will take your child if they test positive for ANY substances

They can test you and your child, and if positive CPS WILL take your child from you.

You should be alright, IMO I don't think it's the actual drug that's bad, i'm assuming it's just the smoke.

If it's legal for recreational use then isn't it considered legal? Are there any laws about it for pregnancy?

Hope everything goes alright, glad you QUIT.

By the time you deliver your baby, it will be out of your system (and the baby's too). If they test your baby for thc, it will come back negative. You'll be ok, don't worry. I don't know how long it is detectable in your system, but by the end of December I'm certain it'll be untraceable.

It will be out of your system before the baby comes... they don't test for it unless they feel the need to.
I know a couple people who smoked through out their entire pregnancy and they didn't take the kid.

There. I said it and with out any opinions :) Lol.

I've heard mixed stories, that if it's just weed they just check out the house and make sure it's a good environment. Also heard of them making the parent do classes. Also heard of the baby failing for weed alone and NOTHING happening. There's no standard or consensus it seems on how the react to it. I'll do whatever it takes to keep my kid, but I'm trying to find first hand stories of other moms who did smoke weed while pregnant. My mind has been racing about this. Your not supposed to use weed anywhere near children even though recreational use is legal, but it is not looked at the way heavy illicit drugs are, or even prescription drugs. My mom had called the cops while drunk telling them we are smoking weed (the reason I quit when I did) and the cops straight up said they didn't care. However, I'm still worried.

Lol, I know I'm over cautious, but when looking up others stories I see women get SLAMMED for asking, and I didn't want that. I just want solid advice.

That is not true, not at all. Traces will still be in the meconium and they can test from that.

There's no telling what could happen OP. It depends on the hospital whether or not they test every baby and even if they did and you or baby tested positive, CPS might not even care.

And i know it will be out of both my and the baby's system, I'm worried about meconium testing of the babies poop since it wont disappear from there. But, I assume if I pass the UA and so does baby, they won't test the meconium. But I just can't find a standard, there is SO much mixed information on the subject.

You could inquire at the hospital you plan to give birth at.
