What does it mean when someone winks at you? Tavi 1 child; Washington 24412 posts

I've always kind of thought of it as flirty....

I mean in some situations, I would assume it'd mean "Hush" "Be quiet"...kind of in a sneaky way....

So My boss comes in, and he's always had nothing but good to say about me. In my line of work, females are hard to come across. It's primarily men. But my boss brought someone he was training and decided to help me out with my shipment. Anyway, they help a little bit, he sits and chats with me about friend-like topics and then as he says "goodbye, see ya later" he smiles and winks.

Is that being flirty? What would you think? I mean, that's kind of....I don't know. Weird right? Or am I totally over analyzing shit again?

Haha, creepy? Well...I suppose. Maybe like a humorous creepy?

That's what I was thinking too, but didn't know if it strikes other people the same, lol. He's done this a few times and I just wasn't sure. I was gonna ask some of the guys I work with if he does that to them, but didn't want to have some weird conversations flying around the work place kwim?

Yeah, rumors flying around work is never a good thing - don't want your words getting twisted or anything. As long as he doesn't over step his boundaries and become a creeper about it, I wouldn't think too much on it.

Yea, that's why I love this site, lol I can be annonymous and not stir up a bunch of shit, lol. He doesn't seem like the type that'd overstep his boundaries. He's really polite and nice....but I have a feeling he doesn't smile and wink at the males, lol.

It depends on the person. My coworker winked at me when he was on the phone with his wife.

from the outside that may look flirty, but it wasn't at all. We were joking about something involving her and he just happened to mention it to get a rise out of her (playfully).

my boss winks at me too sometimes. I wouldn't over think it.

My husband works with a man from Czech. And i guess there winking has nothing to do with flirting at all. He winks at me all the time, when he says hi or when he tells a joke. Infront of his wife too. They both do it lol at first I was really uncomfortable cause I thought he was trying to hit on me lol

It depends on the conversions. Are the conversations flirty? It could also mean he's just really happy. Maybe. lol.
