Almost five months! *~AngelEyes~* 2 kids; 1 angel baby; Memphis, Tennessee 10540 posts

I can't believe it! I'm getting close to the five month mark!! Been EBF since day one! And he's finally rolling to his tummy, now he totally unstoppable! He even tries to crawl! I'd love to put videos up on here, but unless it's from YouTube idk how to do it, esp from a phone! He's growing up so fast! I wasn't really too much around when my oldest was born, but I'm makin up for it... Only problem with my almost 5 month old is he's been having some rattling in his chest. Not much coughing, but you can hear the congestion in his chest... I took him in the bathroom with me last night and took a shower, which the steam seemed to have helped some. What else can I do for it?

Congrats on the BFing! He sounds like he's doing great! Does he have a fever too? My daughter had a rattle in her chest and she ended up with pneumonia. 6 months later she got it again and had to be admitted to the hospital. So use a humidifier for him and honestly I would just take him in though.

keep an eye on it if it stays that way for a week or gets worse, take him
to his pedi. You can put some vicks vapor rub on his chest, back and
behind his ears...prolly want kids or cheap kind b/c store brand can be
strong and burn their skin(depends on if they have really sensitive skin
or not).

The steam helps so you can keep using it,the safest way is prolly to just use a humidifier.

He hD a slight fever yesterday, but it came right back down and stayed down after I gave him some Tylenol. If he's still rattling Monday I'm takin him on in. He doesn't really act like anything is wrong just rattles.

Def keepin my eye and ears on it. I'm gonna look into a humidifier, which could help me out, too bc the air in the apartment is super dry, despite us living right on a lake.

With a fever take him in asap. He's only 5 months old... He's probably miserable too.

He's not running fever now, though. The fever came on bc he's teething. But def takin him Monday if he's still rattling. He's still been playing and acting like his normal self, other than not wanting to be held much, which is bc he's more Mobile and wanting to get up and go constantly. I'm keepin an eye on him, though just to be sure he don't get worse.

I don't either, honestly. As long as he isn't havin any trouble breathing I'm not going to worry to much, bc it really just sounds like mucus buildup like I get. Either way I'm going to end up takin him in to the doc Monday, if he's still got the congested sound. Dang weather don't help either!

Aw that's no good! I've been sickish too basically since I had my youngest, been on 4 or 5 diff rounds of antibiotics... For different things... It's driving me crazy! Then with the baby being sickish, too... About everyone is sick. It's really sucky. The warm then cold weather is seriously throwing me off now! Lol
