What is your opinion of people TTC while on food stamps, living in government housing, getting cash aid, getting welfare, etc.?

(This does not include WIC as almost anyone qualifies for it)

I personally wouldn't, but I have no problem with people that do. Not my business, and some people always need a little help, it shouldn't stop them from having a baby...

now TTC for a 5th or 6th baby...that's another story, IMO

i think it depends on what extent... my fiance and i are on government insurance because both our jobs dont have good enough for our son but thats all we have and its called transitional which meant after the first year we actually pay for it... our bills are paid and our son does not go without so i did not feel guilty when we began trying... now if the parents arent working and they are pssibly using a child for higher benefits i would disagree with the cjoice but like i sad i would say it would all have to depend on how much assistance they got, if they had jobs and if they really wanted another child...

Seeing how much I paid in taxes last year....it genuinely pisses me off. If you can't afford to support yourself, why am I, who busts my ass to support my family and could really use the money I pay in taxes, having to pay to support your new TTC baby?

Irresponsible. I understand if a family needs assistance, but what really gets under my skin is families with 5 kids and refuses to find a job. It seems they make every excuse in the world to not get a job &'provide for their kids. Yet, these same people smoke cigarettes that cost $5 a pack & have an iPhone. I work in social services so I see it all the time.

I do not think anyone should actively TTC while on Government assistance. If you can't afford the Family you have currently on your own, it's not okay to make it the burden of others to support more of your Children.

Meh, I don't get too judgemental unless situations are severe (popping out a dozen children just for a check). You just never know all of the details. As a rule of thumb though, and in MOST cases, it sounds like a bad idea.

You are so offensive.. Some ppl bust their ass everyday too and just can't afford the cost of living.. Ppls salaries are getting cut but the cost of food, electricity, rent etc is going up. Why shouldn't they continue to add to their lives because a stuck up mean stingy b***h like you says so?

Like another Mama stated I wouldn't do it and personally think it's wrong to do so since you can not of course take care of yourself but you feel the need to bring a child into this world that you won't be able to take care of either. I would feel sorry for the child in that case and some people actually like living off of the government who think there is nothing wrong with it and don't strive to help themselves because they have people who PAY to help them it's actually ridiculous!

I remember when I went to the social services office to change my name there was a woman in there with 5 different children, none of them were in school like they should've been, she was on her iphone and not paying attention to any of her kids, aside from one of them who she blamed for everything, if the baby cried, she yelled at him, if something fell, she yelled at him, and the older ones were expected to take care of the younger ones. It was painful to watch. She was also clearly not working.

Honestly, if I were busting my ass every day like that the LAST thing I would ever do is think to bring a baby into this world especially if i'm struggling like that extra stress on me why the hell would I do that 46..

People wind up on govt assistance for a million and a half reasons, I'm not bashing using it when you need it by any means, that's what it's there for. But if you DO need it, I think TTC should be off the list until you don't.

Then you get a second or third job. It is NOT someone else's responsibility to get another job because YOU (general you, not you in particular) want to have another Child and can't afford it. It's irresponsible of the Person trying to conceive.

Are you kidding me? You have 5 baby daddies, right? You are a prime example of what I think is absurd. You are about to have a 7th child with someone you were cheating on last month, and TTC'd with this month....if you cannot afford the children you have, why do you keep having them? Busting your ass is great, but you don't provide for your kids with effort. You provide for them with money. If you don't have it, stop having them until you do.
