What are the signs of colic? Idk if he is or not, but my five month old just recently started getting really fussy, and I mean screaming at the top of his lungs... And the last two days he's been refusing to nurse later in the day, and only wants to be walked with or have me rocking him while shushing him... I'm taking him to the doctor in the morning to try and get to the bottom of it... The fussiness actually started with him having trouble going poop... He's had a few good loose poops since, but is still acting like something hurts...

Could be. He was acting like this last week when he was having hard poops, but after giving him some prunes he had a good normal bm. But this is how it started out with the crying, but it's gotten worse since...

Colic doesn't normally start that late. In regards to the poop situation, my ped told me 1 oz prune juice/ 1 oz water daily is ok if it is a constant struggle for him to go potty. GL

I don't know that it's colic just starting. Both my daughters were colicky and it started literally right after birth. I think they say colic usually rears its ugly head within the first 2-3 months though. Basically my girls were crying nonstop, all day long every day. Nothing soothed them except for Gripe water, being swaddled and my swing. My one daughter who was the worst had tummy issues too....like projectile vomiting issues but Idk if that was directly related to colic or not. My other daughter just spit up a lot. You can always ask the dr but I think it would be a rare thing if he was just now becoming colicky. Sounds more to me like he might have some tummy issues going on aside from being constipated or he's teething.
