I have been REALLLYYYY good and have hardly had ANY caffeine at all, the 8 1/2 weeks ive been pregnant! But today, I gave in and had a little Pepsi.... do you all think caffeine is really that bad for you while pregnant? I have known people to drink its every single day of pregnancy and their babies were fine! My aunt had a Dr Pepper and Snickers every single day of pregnancy and all her babies were great lol just wanting your opinions and your experiences! :)

I think it CAN hurt certain ppl, but as long as you drink it in moderation that it will be fine :)

You're fine. I drank a coca cola everyday and drank tea all the time and was fine.

Thanks!! I have had a couple glasses of Lyon;'s hot tea in early pregnancy which have very tiny bit of caffeine but other then that, I haven't had any caffeine that I recall! This is the first glass and I am limiting myself to one glass! It tastes soooooooo good lol

I think your only real crime is drinking pepsi when you could be drinking coke cola.

You're allowed up to 300 milligrams a day depending on your weight.

Honestly, I completely avoided caffeine 100% the entire first trimester just in case then as soon as I hit around 14 weeks, I have some a few times a week.  I normally drink a decaf hot or iced latte with light espresso.  So less than 15 milligrams a glass, and I never finish it. Or a can or two of a Dr. Pepper or Root Beeer Type of drink.  most Root Beers are caffeine free so that doesn't hurt, haha.

Dr. Pepper is relatively low in Caffeine per 12oz can.  Same as Pepsi or Coke, less than 40 milligrams each can.

The biggest problem with most sodas is the sugar content.  Just watch how much you drink and you'll be fine. =]

Thank you so much!!!! the most i would have had would be a can, at the VERY most.... i put lots of ice in it and watered it down haha, made me feel better..... i cant tell you how desperately i needed a pick me up today though and its helping!!! This is a girl used to drinking 3 cups of STRONG coffee daily and BAM, none anymore! lol the caffeine free crap doesn't do anything for me so I may have a cup from starbucks or something a week thats decaf but that's about it!

You're welcome.

I know before I got pregnant I swore I never would have caffeine while expecting and gave people the stink eye when they were expecting and drank it BUT now that I'm here, it's just not feasible and I don't even drink that much to begin with.

I just said screw it, i'm gonna do what I want.  Haha

I used to love Dr pepper, and other soda's but my biggest issue was COFFEE! Once I took a test, the next day I stopped drinking caffeine cold turkey, but i love me some Sprite, and 7Up :). One soda should hurt ya.

Lol. I see. The first trimester of my pregnancy I was so sick that nothing sounded good- at least it made eating healthy easier. While I don't buy soda for the house (my mom never did, so it is just habit not to), when I go out to eat I will have a coke, and feel no guilt for it at all.

Once the 1st trimester was over I had half a cup of coffee a week. I've had 1 Dr. Pepper this whole pregnancy. I couldn't take it any longer! Unfortunately, it makes me feel like poo after I drink anything with caffeine in it. I've had caffeine free Root Beer & Orange soda. Orange soda tasted like heaven!

Oh and I threw up at the sight/smell/taste of pizza, which sucked because pizza was my favorite food before pregnancy. I don't think I can ever eat it again.
