So, I spilled the beans to everyone about the name we chose. Well, since I've heard it spoken out loud by family and friend and DH it doesn't seem as great as it did. And when I say it, it seems so.... Foreign?

So now I'm totally second guessing and think we might go back to the drawing board. With the other kids I was so sure and their names felt right and like they were what they were supposed to be from the time we picked and started referring to them by their name.

Has anyone else felt this way? If yes, did you keep the name or change it?

Nothing has felt right with this baby so far. We had a name and dd2 overheard dh calling him that and then told my mom and then my sister found out etc. They're all in love which makes it harder. But I'm sticking to my guns and just going to name him when I see him. There is still a good chance he'll have the name everyone loves but also a chance not lol. I never tell names for that reason

After I told people the name I wanted, I completely second guessed it because it just sounded awful after everyone was saying it. So I picked more names and kept that list private and picked in the hospital after he was born.

With my son we were dead set with making him a junior until about a week or two before he was born.. Then out of nowhere someone said Adam and it stuck... What was the name you chose if you don't mind me asking?

I like that but I'm not really a fan of the spelling.. Are there any other ways you could spell it that may make you feel better about it?

I wasn't asking about the spelling... I said when her name is SPOKEN OUT LOUD it doesn't seem to fit. Written out /= Said

DS is River, and I had the same problem when I was pregnant. To begin with, I had a hard time settling on a name at all because I felt like no name in the world was good enough. So eventually I just told SO he could pick one from our list, and that would be that. But then as soon as I heard the people around me saying it, I felt unsure.
But now, I feel like his name was meant for him. I love it and I'm glad everything went the way it did. Its just SO much pressure to name someone, and it's easy to over-think it.
No need to set your name in stone yet. Just feel things out. I think it's pretty common to second and third and fourth guess yourself, but then decide on your original choice anyway. GL! Evelyn is a beautiful name :)

Is that supposed to be Evelyn or Ava and Lyn smooshed together?
