Hiccups- how early? Stephloveslynden Due August 2; 2 kids; 1 angel baby; California 24403 posts

I'm 11 weeks 4 days and I've been feeling the baby move for awhile now (this is my 3rd, felt my second at 12 weeks, doctor even confirmed I've been feeling movement based on an ultrasound) but a few minutes ago, it was going absolutely nuts! I put my hand on my stomach and I could almost barely feel it on the outside, now obviously I think I could feel it on the outside because I was 1) pressing down pretty hard and 2) feeling it from the inside as well. But, it was soooo active. I've felt flutters/light movement but this was first real MOVEMENT. Anyway, it was going so nuts that I started to wonder if it had the hiccups? Is it too early for that? I remember how my whole belly would jump when my girls had the hiccups in utero. I was just curious because it really felt like the baby was jumping in there. Maybe it was just having a dance party lol.

I don't know but I'm 16 weeks with my first and I could feel movement on the inside and I told DH it felt like the baby was going crazy so he put his hand on my belly and pushed down a little and said he could feel everything moving around in there. He said it was crazy movement.

That's so cool! With my other pregnancies my husband has not been able to feel the babies from the outside until after about 20 weeks. I'm sad my husband is at a hockey game tonight because I just texted him and told him he probably could have felt the baby. Now it went back to bed or something. Wore itself out I suppose lol.

Possible baby had hiccups. I believe they start to swallow fluid around 10 or 11 weeks. This is my 3rd & I know I am feeling flutters, but nothing like you stated

Yeah until this I had only been feeling flutters. But it really did remind me of hiccups from my previous pregnancies. It was soooo cool. It makes me so excited. I love this part of pregnancy. This and the baby at the end lol.

I was surprised he was able to feel it too. Any other time he tried to feel movement I felt he couldn't feel anything.

I felt hiccups for the first time yesterday and I've been feeling baby for sure around 11 weeks. (I'm 16w 6d)

I don't think they develop the ability to hiccup until late first trimester.

I am late in the first trimester. On the ultrasound today the baby was "eating" fluid but it was also kicked and punching like crazy so I think that's what I felt.
