WHEN should I announce my pregnancy? Duewith#2. {38Weeks} Due September 24 (boy); 1 child; grand rapids, MI, United States 897 posts
30th Jan

We have already told our immediate family and just like 3 of our closest friends.

But, I am wondering when we should announce to the rest of the world? I am now 5+3 today and I was thinking between 12-13 weeks? That would get me to the very end of March. I was thinking about doing a cute pic of my DD in her "I'm going to be a big sister" shirt with an ultrasound pic. Not sure, I want to do something super fun.

Any other announcement ideas? Funny ones...

I waited until 12 weeks, because the risk of miscarriage goes way down at that point.

i would wait till you are out of your first trimester. so 13-14 weeks. the first trimester is the most worrysome then things get easier.

I am planning on announcing mine around 12 weeks after my first scan. I'm also planning on doing it similarly to how you said with my daughter wearing a shirt saying 'big sister' and also with my in the picture ultrasound on my tummy and my hands making a heart around it. If that makes sense :) No doubt I'll change my mind before then I've seen so many great ideas

Both my parents and fiances parents know but that is all. We thought it was best to let them know as we see them very often and they would find out once my morning sickness sets in

I am almost 15 weeks and I have only told my grandpa and my older brother. My grandpa spread the word after I told him. My SO family doesn't know yet, but we are thinking of creative ways to announce it at 16 weeks. Our friends have no idea either so it's going to a surprise for everyone basically.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I just told family. (Because they would b butt hurt if I didn't lol) but next time I'm not. My sister and I are both pregnant she due in august. I'm due in sept. Anyway my cousin commented on Facebook "won't you both be pregnant at the same time" luckily I saw it right when he posted so I deleted his comment then mssged him that we hadn't made it facebook official. and he writes back saying were like the kardashian sisters. I'm like ok thanks? Lol  I just rather have to let my family know If anything happens.. So I'm waiting till 12 weeks.

I told everyone right away lol. I fb posted it right away too I couldn't wait. I didn't really care about  the chance of miscarrying. If I did then oh well and I would hope people would be supportive, nothing to be embarrassed about by any means. I just wanted the world to know! Lol
