Freak out! ExpectingPeanut (19wks) Due September 7; TTC since Aug 2012; Arkansas 1038 posts

So I was using my doppler this morning.. I found baby and I started freaking out because the numbers were going between 100-115 so I moved the doppler and it immediatly started rising only to 160 until the baby moved away. My babies heart rate is usually 178-180. Freaked me the hell out! haha.

Yeah home dopplers can do that to you.. I was advised not to get it because I was having twins and I wouldn't be able to distinguish one from the other ha! I also didn't want to freak out over not finding their heart beats. 38

Yeah i'm just going to put it up, and leave it alone for AWHILE. I only use it because I have no symptoms at all lol.

Thats why i would never use a home doppler. I don't get the point in buying one anyways, if your going to have a miscarriage theres nothing you can do to stop it & plus i'd rather just wait for my appointment, gives me something to look forward too.

Its for reassurance. I know if I miscarried I could not stop it. I'm putting it back in the box and putting it somewhere out of reach.

That is exactly why my dr told me not to buy one! He said the likely good of you using it correctly and finding the babys heartbeat and distinguishing between yours, babys, and placenta may be difficult and can cause undue stress or anxiety to nervous mamas LoL

Plus you're almost to 12weeks lots of mamas symptoms start to go away around 12weeks some sooner some later. Mine went away and have now come back. Just remember like you said there is nothing you can do to stop whatever nature and God has planned so don't stress about it. Stress is bad for baby. Your chance of miscarriage goes down at 12weeks especially if you have no previous history of loss. Unfortunelty there is no safe zone it's just the odds go down the further you get.

Things are great for now, I'm not stressing. I'm actually excited about traveling today. Morning sickness is kicking my butt this morning.
