Would you get the whooping cough vaccine while pregnant?
My doc brought it up at my last appt. about me getting it at my next appt which is thursday. Does anyone know of a good web site to get reliable info?  TIA

Whooping cough is going around here too.  I just can't remember for the life of me if I got it with any of my other babies.

If I wasn't already vaccinated for whopping cough I would be getting this one. From what I've heard if you get it while pregnant it helps to protect your baby until they are able to get the vaccine themselves. Whopping cough is spreading like crazy and killing babies in this area. This is one I don't believe in taking chances with.

No but we choose not to vaccinate at all.

This. Especially while pregnant. They can't test those things on pregnant women so they don't know all the side effects or risks... If you feel strongly about it, you could get it after giving birth. I did after my first (before we decided to not vax at all).

My doc didn't bring it up while I was pregnant.  But I did get the day after I gave birth.

I am getting it. We have an epidemic here and getting it in your third tri passes some immunity to baby. I did not get it with #1 because there were almost no cases locally at the time

I just had mine, my midwife informed me that this is something new they are doing (I never had it with the first 3) because they now know that getting the vaccine at the end of pregnancy will protect your newborn for their first 2 months of life.
