when to get fluids ~Sparky~ 2 kids; 2nd star to the right, CA, United States 9529 posts

29 weeks. Threw up a few times at 10, and threw up styff that should have cleared my system hours prior. Then starting at 230 every 45min-hr it has been 5+min of uncontrollable painful heaving with nothing but bile. Nothing stays in. If I take sips after onepuking bout that water will come up in the next. I had also noticed the last few days that my urine was much darker than normal (like unfiltered apple cider) made a conscious effort to drink a ton of water, no change. Since I have been sitting on DDs potty when I throw up I can now tell it looks like it has a lot of sediment too.
ugh I'm really hoping this is not a stomach bug, I don't need a sick 2 yr old

I'd go in. The urine is a bad sign.

does your skin tent when you pinch it and let go?

But your urine makes you sound super dehydrated.

I'm going to echo everyone, you should go in.  The vomiting is worrisome but the way you described your urine is what really bothers me.  You sound severely dehydrated.

There's no harm going in even if you aren't dehydrated.... But if you are dehydrated and don't go,  that could end up bad

I called LD and talked tobthe Dr on call. Since I am not having any contractions and the vomiting took a break (slept from 6-930 it is now 1130, nauseus but haven't gotten sick yet) she wants me to try hydrating at home (our hosp is over run with flu). Liquids for 4 hrs, if I can keep those down then crackers. If contractions start, vomiting gets a lot worse, or it's 9pm and I'm still not keeping crackers down then in I go. All stocked up on gatorade, apple juice, and non red jello. Fingers crossed!

Have you been able to keep things down today and does your urine look better?

I just saw this post but wanted to check on you.

I haven't had a ton but what I've had I've kept down.  Urine is still dark but not anywhere near as bad.  No contractions,  and baby girl has been her normal wiggly self.   I did have to barricade myself in the bedroom when dh heated up soup from last night(what I was throwing up all night). Really hoping it's not stomach flu, Brianna kept ninja-ing my cup so if it is she will be sick soon. Never had diarrhea so keeping my fingers crossed.

Sometimes if your really dehydrated it could start contractions. I'd go in and get rehydrated.

Sounds like it may be a little better(vomiting wise) but I would still go in esp since your urine hasn't lightened up any.

I have a follow up scheduled tomorrow and she's called to check on me a few timss. Our hosp has a TON of flu cases right now  so they are being extra cautious
