So, I already know i'll be having a ceaseran...
I was reading somewhere about other women's experiences,
and a lot of people mentioned difficulties with bowel movements afterwards,
but nothing too specific.

my question is: do you just become extremely complicated, or what's the deal?

I didn't.. But then again I had constipation while I was pregnant so my body was use to that. It wasn't much of a difference.

Hm, the way some of these stories are... they're making it seem like a big deal.
Talking about stocking up on prune juice, lol.

The anesthetic they use can slow/stop peristalsis. It makes it hard to have a bm so everything gets compacted together and you become constipated. It happens after a vaginal delivery if you had an epidural as well. No biggie. Some hospitals give you colace others don't. find out so you can be prepared. Bring your own colace , prune juice etc.

colace? Is it a pill or a drink?
Is it something I can find at the drug store?

I had an epidural and a spinal block (but no c section, just forceps) and I got very constipated and I still am now, I take dulcoease to help me and eat about 10 dried prunes each day to help :)

It's a Lil red gel pill. You can get it at walMart, walgreens, any pharmacy.

I had vaginal delivery with my 1st and was constipated badly afterwards. I had a csection with my 2nd an no trouble. The nurses at the hospital gave me milk of mag to just because they require you to have a BM before discharging you home. I guess everyone is different.. GOOD LUCK
