Not sure if I should post this in parents of kids or here. I'm going with here...

DH and I have a pretty active sex life and we usually wait until LATE to have sex or a quicky in the shower.

ANYWAY the other night DH was all the kids are sleeping wanna go f*** real quick? So we did. Probably start to finish an hour. I was enjoying myself Wink And I have a super big baby bump so I was on top. NBD I was trying to be quiet, although our bed does squeak, I've been shopping for a new one Embarassed

And our our oldest I guess wasn't asleep because he asked us why we were being loud last night and why we were keeping him up, because he couldn't sleep. And if that was what romantic time was. DH was all yeah, your mom and I were talking. Surprised

I know this happened yesterday, but I am really embarrassed and I don't know if DH or I should've explained more. On top of that, I don't exactly want the kids hearing our fun time, but the floor hurts and is not enjoyable. Since I know DS can hear our bed if he's awake and we don't know it should we stick to shower time? What the heck are we supposed to do until we buy a new bed? We can't just not have sex...

Maybe you could give him a very watered down birds and bees talk. But I think every parent and child goes through this. I mean my parents never did anything however my best friend and I walked on on her parents and we were 6-7 and they just told us that, that's how adults say they love each other and that is what mommy and daddy's do sometimes when they are alone

According to parents.com this is what I found

Ages 6 to 7: A basic understanding of intercourse. You can say, "Nature [or God] created male and female bodies to fit together like puzzle pieces. When the p***s and the vagina fit together, sperm, like tadpoles, swim through the p***s and up to the egg." Explain what you think about sex and relationships. For instance: "Sex is one of the ways people show love for each other."

but, I dunno.. It seems so g*****c for a little kid. Gah!

I would leave out the sperm and egg thing until later. But I would just say it's something that we will talk about when you are older

I would rather not have sex, then to have my kids hearing me. I used to hear my mom having sex with her boyfriend and it traumatized the shit out of me. Obviously this is based off my own personal issues lol.

Why don't you just check and make sure your oldest is asleep before you start having sex? Or do it standing up bending over and your husband can do it from behind? Just avoid the bed.

when DD1 asked where babies came from(i was pregnant) i told her about the sperm and the egg. it wasn't too much for her and she was 6 too. she seemed to understand and hasn't asked since. i did leave out the actual sex part. i just said a man has sperm, a oman has an egg and the egg and sperm come together and the baby forms.

other than that i wouldn't get into sex. i don't like that definition either. what about gay relationships?

This! Or have sex in your room standing up/bent over.
