When do you normally leave on maternity from work?

With DD1 - I worked until 42 weeks, 6 days. I was induced on that day at 5 pm after work.
With DD2 - I stopped working 3 weeks prior to the day I went into labour. I made more money on mat leave than working at that time of the year.

I live in Canada and get a year of mat leave so I left 3 weeks before my due date because I wanted some time to relax and get things ready before the baby came. It was a good thing too because I ended up goin into labor 2 weeks before my due date.

I wanted to work till I popped but my doctor put me on leave at 39 weeks because of the heat in the factory I was working at.

I didn't go on mine until 4 days before I was induced.

I could have gone earlier but didn't see a reason to.

I worked up until I gave birth. I woke up on a Monday in labor, so I didn't go to work that day.

You can legally start maternity leave from 29 weeks pregnant but you don't have too, you can work until you feel unable to or want to start it.

I'm hoping to work right up until baby arrives but I drive an hour and a half to and from work so I don't know how long that will be ok for. I've never been 9 months pregnant before so I'll just see how it goes.

With the second I think I left like 6 weeks before she was born. I stood all day long at I just could not take it anymore.  With this one, I am scheduled for a c-section on Monday, June and I am already signed up to work June 28 (Sat).  I think I took like 8 weeks off prior to having the first.  Sounds horrible and unbelievable, but my DAYCARE job got too dangerous.  I worked in a very bad area and a kid rammed a table into the back of my knees so that I would fall and hurt my baby.
