September 23rd I go in at like 5:30am for a 7:30am surgery.  Obviously it will be earlier if my water breaks or something he said. It is scheduled at exactly 39 weeks. I always wondered why they don't let me go until 40, but I forgot to ask.

So, you're being induced, but you don't know why? That doesn't make any sense. Why are they planning it so far ahead?

Sounds like a c-section, not induction

she said 7:30 surgery...I would say that's a c-section and not induced

Either way, she's having an early planned c-section, but she doesn't know why. That's weird.

I am confused. Your due date says sept 23, but on sept 23 you will be 39 weeks?

She prob changed her due date to sept 23rd since she knows shes giving birth on that day. And i dont know shes confused as to why she's getting surgery, I think shes confused as to why they didnt schedule it for 40 weeks.

Why on earth would you consent to a major surgery without knowing WHY you're having it?

Yea, It technically is sept 30, I just changed it to the baby's birthday. it is exactly 39 weeks.

Yes, it is a scheduled RCS. He just said that they always do them at 39 weeks...I wonder if it because they do not want me to go into labor on my own, because it could be harmful or something? I don't really understand. I will ask my next appointment.

I think generally for a scheduled c-section they prefer to schedule before 40 weeks because it can be problematic if you are already in labor.  So the idea is a week or two before your estimated due date you're less likely to go into labor on your own.

Exactly. I know WHY I am having surgery, it's a RCS. I do not have the choice of a VBac because of my cancer.

This is exactly what my ob told me. She said if a c-section is necessary a planned c-section is safer than an emergency c-section.
