Hey BabyGaga,

My daughter is almost 3 months old, okay, she never cries only when she has a poopie diaper, I just went to my daughter apt today and my daughter got a shot and didnt cry at all, her doctor told me its not normal for a 3 month old to not cry and that they want to run test on her because she dosent cry! What should I do, Im just confused, Should I get my daughter another doctor or should I let them run test, has anyone been where im at????? PLEASE HELP

I would think about getting another Dr. or at the very most a second opinion.

I think she should be much older before they start jumping to conclusion and putting her through a bunch of tests, i would definitely get a second opinion.

Dd was like that... She didn't get pissy about a lot... The only time she would get upset was when she pooped her diaper too because if not she had a very sensitive bottom that would burn up... She is 7 years old now and is overly sensitive about everything... I would hold off unless it was accompanied by other symptoms... Or get a second opinion... Goodluck

How invasive is the test? if it's not too bad I would do it, but nothing with heavy radiation like mri unless necessary. My little sister can't feel surface pain. I don't know how they know since I wasn't at her appointments, but she also has other problems like microcephaly, an a few other things  so she has had all kinds of tests since birth.

I would think about a second opinion, or maybe asking if they can put it off a bit longer. My youngest doesn't cry for shots either, she just has a high tolerance for pain. I don't believe she ever cried for diapers either, but she always had some nasty ass shit lol.

Why would the doc say bottle is better? I think I would find another dr!

Exactly what I thought. Breastfeeding is definitely better in almost all cases.  I would get a second opinion before doing any tests also.

Is he concerned that she may not be able to feel pain? That is something I would want to know about my child, but what exactly did he say, and why?

Because he gave her a shot and didnt cry, and that she too calm! i know she feels pain because the doc pinched her, I yelled at him because he did it without my consent!

no look for a 2nd opinion. bottle feeding isnt going to help her in any way unless she has a med condition. keep up the bfing! good job!
and if she does have an issue where she doesnt feel pain, which doesnt sound like she does, the test can wait til shes around 2.5

I got a new doctor for my daughter, she is so nice, and she said "no need for tests right now, we will wait till she is about 2.5 or 3 if its necessary, because some children have high pain tolerance, some babies cry some dont just enjoy the non crying for now, there is nothing wrong with her" Im so glad I got a new doctor for my baby girl! woohoo
