I'm 37 weeks. I went to the doc on Tuesday. My doctor thinks that I have the start of pre-e. I woke up very swollen today I couldn't make a fist. My feet are swollen as well of course. My feet where tingling. Then now I have a headache. I no I need to call and I'm going to. I'm just scared that they will want me to have the baby today. I want the baby to bake until at least 39 weeks. I want the baby to cook as long as possible. This is just a tiny vent. Please don't judge to harsh

No one will judge you.

You are at a safe point where if you do have to deliver baby, it won't be as dangerous. Your doctor will likely keep an eye on things now but you will probably make it another week at least. You're good. I hope it gets better and you can just go through the last 3 weeks without any issues but you've done a good job, mama. No one can judge you for being scared....that's what we mom's do. Best of luck and congrats on the new baby!

I had a friend with pre e and she went to 40 weeks. I would just call, I would think they would only take the baby if it was too dangerous for him/her to be in there any longer.

I'd be scared too....try drinking lots of water, elevating your feet, and stay away from any salty foods. Maybe a cool bath will help some? I started getting signs of it with my first around the same time. My OB just told me not to be on my feet for more than 30 minutes at a time and to do the above mentioned suggestions. I hope it helps.

Pre e can be very dangerous so I would contact your doctor right away. If they have to take the baby remember it's because it safer for both of you. I have had pre e with all my pregnancies. My 2nd daughter I had to deliver 6 weeks early because of it.

Thank you that makes me not feel as bad about myself. I feel like I have done something wrong. And to make things worse i am scheduled to go into work tonight to work my normal 12 hour shift with no way to keep my feet up

Wow that's great. When I went in this week he just made me nervous cause he was very quiet then he would ask me more questions then pause some more. I was like hello please tell me what's going through your head

No way, you did nothing wrong. It just happens. Maybe your doctor could write you a note to let your boss know you might need time off?? Or less hours if it gets worse. Just kick up your feet and relax when you do get home. If it gets to the point where baby needs to be delivered, it'll be for the best and if there is NICU time, technology has gotten so amazing in that aspect, baby will be just fine.

Definitely call ASAP though because if you do have pre-e it can be very dangerous for you and baby. It can also progress very quickly. Just make sure you let them know you want to wait as long as possible while still being safe. Good luck!

** I had pre-e with my first and was delivered at 36 weeks. He was in the NICU for a week. Today is his second birthday and he is perfect! A mess, but perfect. lol

If it is indeed pre e your doctor will most likely pull you out of work now & should give you something in writing to give to your boss. Good luck & if you can't get a hold of your doctor go to L & D immediately.
